Botox, short for Botulinum Toxin Type A, is a well-known injectable treatment. It works by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in smoother and softer skin. Botox is commonly used to treat crow's feet, frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), and forehead lines. The treatment is quick, minimally invasive, and typically requires no downtime. Onset and longevity is the same as Nuceiva, results lasting longer than Dysport. Follow-up treatments are recommended to maintain the desired effects.

Nuceiva is another injectable treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. It contains Botulinum Toxin Type A, similar to Botox, and works in a similar manner by relaxing facial muscles. Nuceiva is reported to have fast-acting results, with improvements often visible within a few days. Like Botox, Nuceiva is effective for treating crow's feet, glabellar lines, and forehead wrinkles. The duration of results are very similar to, Botox with a longer duration then Dysport and subsequent treatments are usually required to sustain the effects.

Dysport is yet another injectable option for reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles. It also contains Botulinum Toxin Type A and is used to temporarily inhibit muscle contractions. Dysport is frequently used to treat glabellar lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow's feet. The treatment process is similar to Botox and Nuceiva, involving a series of injections administered by a trained healthcare professional. Dysport may have a faster onset of action and may spread to wider areas then Botox or Nuceiva with a short duration of longevity.
How is Botox/Nuceiva/Dysport injected?
These toxins are injected with a tiny insulin needle into different areas of the facial muscle which blocks the neuromuscular transmission of the motor nerve terminal by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine. This produces partial chemical denervation of the muscles promoting muscle relaxation. When the muscles can no longer contract, the skin becomes flat and the lines diminish. This results in smoother, younger-looking skin. Botox cosmetic exhibits a targeted effect so it has minimal migration from the point of injection. It has a rapid onset of action having long-lasting treatment effects.
Will I look “Frozen” with Botox, Nuceiva or Dysport injections?
Clients’ biggest concern when being treated with Botox cosmetics is being stuck with the “frozen look” or "paralyzed look" of the face. For example, treating the frown lines using the MD Code injection technique can indirectly affect the brow, producing a lifting effect. It can also give the eye a brighter more energetic look. Injecting too much in one area or in the wrong area can result in eyelid or brow ptosis (droopy eyelid).
WARNING: Found a better deal? "Bargain Botox" is often over diluted with Normal Saline, therefore, delivering fewer units of Botox Cosmetic than needed in turn not providing the desired results.
Specific muscle groups have unique characteristics and strength therefore require different units of Botox, Nuceiva, or Dysport. So, usually Botox and other Neuromodulators keep you looking smooth for about 3-4 months. But here's the deal – your facial moves also play a role. If you're all about those big, expressive expressions, you might develop more of those lines and wrinkles, and that could make your Neuromodulators wear off a bit more quickly.
The quantity administered also plays a significant role in determining its duration of action. To illustrate, if a smaller quantity of Botox than necessary is injected, its effects may not endure for the expected 3-4 months.

When it comes to Botox and Neuromodulators, you're mostly looking at just a tiny bit of pain in the specific spot. Of course, there's that small chance of infection when you break the skin, especially if your immune system isn't at its best, but don't stress too much – that's not super common.
You might see some puffiness, tenderness, or redness at the injection site. Maybe a tad bit of bleeding or bruising too. Reduce bruising and puffiness by skipping the Advil, ASA, Naproxen, and drinks for a whole day before the injection. That should dial down the bleeding and bruising situation.
