Before you book
- 01
Assessment comes before removal
Not every bump or pigmented spot is suitable for cosmetic removal. A new, changing, irregular, bleeding or non-healing lesion needs medical assessment before any cosmetic treatment. Where the diagnosis is uncertain or tissue testing may be needed, assessment by a physician or dermatologist takes priority. Cosmetic plasma treatment is not a substitute for diagnosing or treating skin cancer.
- 02
What is a skin tag?
Skin tags are usually small, soft growths that may appear where skin rubs against skin or clothing. Other growths can look similar, so suitability should not be decided from a photograph or an online description alone.
- 03
Can a mole be treated?
Some lesions may be considered for cosmetic treatment after appropriate assessment. A mole that needs a biopsy or examination of a tissue sample should not be treated cosmetically first. Your provider will discuss whether treatment at Skin Diva is suitable or whether another assessment is needed.
- 04
How Plexr fits into treatment
Plexr uses plasma energy to treat selected superficial tissue. The treatment area, skin characteristics, lesion type and healing considerations all affect whether it is an appropriate option. Having a skin tag or a raised mole does not automatically make you a candidate.
- 05
Your consultation
Bring details about how long the lesion has been present, any changes or symptoms, previous treatment, relevant medical history and medicines. Discuss what bothers you, what removal may achieve, potential risks and whether a different approach is needed.
- 06
Healing and risks
Temporary redness, swelling and crusting may occur. Possible risks include infection, scarring and changes in pigmentation. Healing varies by treatment area and individual skin characteristics. Your provider will explain aftercare, sun protection and when to seek advice. Do not pick or remove healing crusts.
